The Jasper Lions Club Sponsors various programs, facilities, and events throughout the year to benefit the Jasper, Indiana community.
Low Vision Machines – 18 low vision machines have been purchased by the Lions Club and are on loan to individuals, schools, and nursing facilities to assist those with vision problems.
Riverview Park – An ongoing project of the club is the continued development of the park. Located at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Brucke Strasse, this park was designed and built to accommodate the disabled. It is the first handicap-accessible park in the City of Jasper and is available for all to use and enjoy.
Radio Auction – Since 1961, the radio auction has been the main fund raising event for the Jasper Lions Club. It is held annually at the Dubois County Museum in mid-September. Local industries, businesses and individuals donate items, products and services to be auctioned off in the museum and can be heard live on radio station WITZ with phone bids. The auction runs Monday-Friday from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.
Strawberry Festival – The Strawberry Fest is held in late May or early June at the Dave Buehler Plaza near the Patoka River Bridge Riverwalk. Delicious ice cream, strawberries, and shortcake are served along with grilled sandwiches and soft drinks.
Children’s Box Parade – This event is held annually during the Jasper Strassenfest. The parade gives area children a chance to display their creative box designs.
Dachshund Dash – Another event held annually during the Jasper Strassenfest, the Dachshund Dash pits dachshunds of all different shapes and sizes in a race to be the top dog of their division. All proceeds from this event go to the Dubois County Humane Society.

The Raphael Blessinger Scholarship is awarded to a deserving student attending Vincennes University – Jasper Center. Lion Blessinger was instrumental in the formation of VUJC.
The Eli Green Mental Attitude Award and various other awards are given annually to the Jasper High School Wrestling Team. An artist by trade, Lion Green was a staunch supporter of the wrestling program as well as the Speech and Drama Club at Jasper High School.
